County officials have been sprucing up Kapsabet town as all systems are geared towards receiving their guest.

The First Lady, who will arrive early in the morning, is scheduled to first visit Kapsabet School for the Deaf where she will be conducted on a tour of the school before heading to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.

Kapsabet School for the deaf has a population of 300 students and offers primary and secondary education and includes a vocational training centre.

At the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital the First Lady will tour the maternity wing where she will be briefed on the progress made to ensure quality healthcare services for women and new born babies.

According to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital administrator Nicholas Korir, despite challenges, devolution of healthcare services was the best idea as it has ensured major infrastructural improvements of hospitals in rural areas.

He also added that Kapsabet County Referral Hospital gets an average of 13 deliveries per day.

The only Counties remaining for the First Lady to have covered the whole country with mobile clinics are Murang’a and Nairobi Counties.

Reports from the ground where the clinics are in operation indicate that the clinics have helped to reduce distances covered by women and children while seeking medical services.

The handing over ceremony of the 45th Fully Kitted Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic will take place at Kapsabet show grounds at 10:00 am.
