A number of media platforms had indicated that the two counties had dumped the caucus for another that was newly formed in a neighboring region.

Nandi County Executive for Trade and Tourism, Dr. Benard Kiplimo attended a NOREB meeting in Turkana where he sought to make records straight.

Turkana County is hosting the meeting that brings together eight counties to discuss on ways to foster tourism in the bloc.

Being Uasin Gishu County Governor's brainchild, the bloc is soon to have frameworks that will require member counties to formulate development agendas that align to the bloc's and the national government's big four pillars.

Giving an address during her presentation, County Executive in charge of ICT, Trade, and industrialization Dr. Emilly Kogos noted Uasin Gishu's will and commitment to ensuring the bloc meets its goals.

"As a region, we have a great potential of changing the status of our respective counties. We have the comparative advantage between the counties which highly complements the needs of the different counties..."

"...as we discuss the various issues we need to prioritize the needs of propelling the block farther and better making it the best through our projects and development," said Kogos.

Among the participants during the meeting included Executives in charge of Education Joseph Kurgat and Devolution's Barnabas Tarus.

Uasin Gishu County is the center of NOREB with its capital Eldoret being the economic nerve of the rest of the eight counties.

Mandago is the chairman of the caucus that brings together Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Turkana, West Pokot and Samburu counties.
