Thika were on track to win the match when on the 23rd minute, Christopher Oruchum headed home a Baraka Badi cross.

Mathare equalized on the 40th minute through a George wise Owino header before Ronald Okoth capitalized on a rebound to head in the Slum Boys’ second goal, for a 2-1 score at half-time.

On the 62nd minute, Sosthenes Idah equalized for Thika from a header, but Mathare relentlessly pursued a winner, which they got on the 81st minute, through David Otieno.

“We played quite well and had it not been for a certain level of sloppiness, this was a match we should have won,” said Nandwa.

“We shall review our performance in the match and improve on the areas of weakness before our next match.”

Thika next play Champions Tusker on Sunday March 19 at the Thika Municipal Stadium.
