The Council of Governors (COG) has said that it is auditing claims made by contractors.Turkana's Governor Josphat Nanok who also doubles up as the chairman of the COG said that the counties would only pay genuine claims.Nanok expressed regret that the payments to contractors had been delayed because of the delay in disbursement from the National Treasury, saying that Treasury had only released money to cover other expenditures.''The delay is not a deliberate move but one occasioned by delays in disbursement of funds to counties. We expect to settle genuine claims in the fullness of time,'' Governor Nanok said yesterday.
