Taveta MP Naomi Shaban has urged Coast residents to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 general election. The MP also asked residents to adopt the six piece voting system and ensure all Jubilee candidates contesting for various seats in the region win in the August polls. In an interview with the Standard on Thursday, Shaban said residents stand to gain from Jubilee’s administration if it is re-elected in August. She said Uhuru’s Jubilee government has a clear development agenda and deserves re-election.“Kenyans stand to gain if President Uhuru Kenyatta wins re-election in August because his development agenda in the last four years is laudable,” said Shaban, as quoted by the Standard. She asked Kenyans not to be misled by the National Super Alliance (NASA), adding that the coalition is not interested in providing solution to the issues facing the country. She accused NASA of engaging Kenyans in baseless and malicious propaganda. The Jubilee MP at the same time asked NASA not to expect any votes from the Coast region. She said Coast will no longer align itself to the opposition.Shaban argued the region has benefited nothing from the opposition and will thus endorse Uhuru’s re-election in August.
