Donkey cart operators in Wajir have been directed to attach a poop collecting bag at the back of their donkeys.
Wajir Town administrator Issack Abdi, said the move is aimed at ensuring cleanliness is maintained in and around the town.
“The County Government of Wajir appreciates the contribution of the donkey cart operators to the economy of Wajir. However, the town must be kept clean at all times,” said Mr Abdi.
The town administrator further said that no donkey will be allowed in the town without the poop collecting bag.
“Donkey cart operators are directed to manage their donkey poop to avoid having faeces all over the tarmac road creating nuisance. You are directed to attach a bag at the back of your donkey to collect the faeces,” read part of a notice signed by the town administrator.
