While the recent rains that have been falling are welcome, they have a trail of destruction on most roads making some areas inaccessible.
One of the most damaged roads is the Kisii- Mahimahiu road that has been closed after floods cut it.
This means that those travelling from Nyanza region will have to use alternate routes.
According to authorities, the heavy rains have caused damages running into millions of shillings, road authorities have said.
This comes as the Kenya Meteorological Department warns Kenyan to brace themselves for heavy rains in several parts of the country.
On Monday, Mr Peter Ambenje said that most parts of the country will experience increased rainfall that will amount to 40mm.
He also said that the heavy rains will go on until mid next week in the South Rift Valley, Southeastern lowlands, Nairobi, Northern and Central Kenya.
