Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto says both Kajiado and Narok Counties are no longer swing regions and challenged Jubilee to divert its attention elsewhere.

In 2013, opposition leader Raila Odinga marginally led in Narok while President Uhuru Kenyatta topped in Kajiado County.

During NASA’s campaign in Narok on Wednesday, Rutto said the region had experienced a paradigm shift in terms of voting pattern.

“I want Jubilee to know that Kajiado and Narok are no longer swing states. They have since shifted in our favour and that is the reality,’ he said.

He added: “We shall have many more elected members in the coming parliament and our candidate will scoop most votes. The message is clear out there.”

On record, defunct URP party of Deputy President William Ruto scooped majority of the MPs and other county seats in 2013 elections.

Both ODM and CCM have put a spirited fight to reclaim the country with fierce contest expected in governorship seat that would see incumbent Samuel Tunai, Joseph Tiampati of ODM and Patrick Ntutu of CCM taking on each other.
