In a statement to newsrooms on Thursday, Narok Governor Samuel Tunai, said the death of Ole Ntimama has been received in shock across the county.

Tunai termed Ole Ntimama as a wise, great and respected leader, adding that he lived a life of great service and sacrifice.

“We are distraught. We are desolate. We are sad. A whole community mourns. A whole county mourns. We look back in retrospect at his splendid career as a public servant, an eminent leader of great repute and influence, whose wisdom, counsel and generosity will long be missed,” read the statement in part.

The governor said Ole Ntimama was a servant leader, who transformed the lives of residents in Narok North Constituency, during his time as an MP.

“A great star has been snatched from our midst before dawn, a loss from which we are bound to feel shattered. We cannot emphasize how much the poorer we are left by his death. So much can and will be said of his kindness, hard work, vision and infectious laughter. Yet, by the nature of his example while he lived, no books written will ever be enough to celebrate and explore his rich leadership legacy, that generations to come will be forever charmed, and indebted to him,” said Tanui.

The governor promised to honour Ole Ntimama by following his footsteps and sustaining his legacy.

The former minister is said to have died on Thursday at his Narok home of natural courses at the age of 86.
