The National Super Alliance (NASA) is now asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to reconsider his decision of not participating in the Presidential debate set for July 24.

Odinga who together with Uhuru pulled out of the debate on July 5, and accused the organisers of not consulting them prior to their arrangements.

However, NASA presidential candidate adviser Mr Salim Lone, now say they met with the organisers of the proposed debate and ironed out the issue and they are now ready to participate in the event.

“At our final meeting, last Thursday, NASA and the Commission reached agreement on the principal points about the debate format, including the issues to be discussed, the moderators, the audience and the venue,” said Lone.

“NASA is still ready to take part in the proposed Debates as soon as Jubilee engages in agreeing on the 'ground rules' that President Kenyatta used as the excuse to duck the Debates, which Kenyans have come to expect as an essential platform for leaders to communicate their visions directly to them,”  he added.
