Opposition NASA now demands immediate resignation of two government officials who they believe bears greatest responsibility on alleged police atrocities across the country.
A report by Amnesty International revealed that at least 33 people had died through police brutality before October presidential repeat elections.
And Senator James Orengo and Johnstone Muthama now wants Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i and Inspector General to quit office for 'negligence of duty'.
"The law protests demonstrators and it is quite unfortunate that police are murdering people who are unarmed. Matiang'i and Joseph Boinet should quit," he said.
Muthama, who also heads opposition campaigns in Nairobi added:" They have failed to restrain the police from using excessive force and now we shall push for their resignation."
Five people were reportedly killed at the eve of elections as police pursued defiant demonstrators in NASA's Nyanza strongholds as locals repulsed efforts of IEBC to hold polls.
In their previous interviews, the two have maintained that police usually act in defense whenever under attack, a claim that has been disputed by the opposition.
