In what is seen as a titanic battle for the region’s vote, the two alliances have made numerous visits to the area in the last two months.

The Deputy President William Ruto led the Jubilee brigade early this week in drumming up support for the president.

According to the NASA team itinerary, there will be Sunday rallies to be held at Ekerenyo, Magwagwa and Rigoma.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Treasurer Timothy Bosire revelead that the NASA team will be led by their flag-bearer Raila Odinga.

The area is considered an opposition zone, even though the Jubilee Party say it is a swing region, hence the efforts to get a share of the vote.

“Preparations have been finalised for the rallies. Jubilee has been cornered now and have nowhere to run to,” he told a local daily.

“People are tired with their promises; they are a diet of hoaxes which our people have refused to buy,” the Kitutu Masaba MP added, in reference to the Jubilee Party.

Settling of IDPs in the area has been the strongest selling point for the ruling party, with millions of shillings already dispatched for their resettlement.
