A group of lawmakers allied to the Jubilee Party have warned Opposition coalition NASA against swearing in Raila Odinga as President.
NASA has on several occasions threatened to swear in Mr Odinga should President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta be sworn in for a second term.
Uhuru is yet to be sworn in due to pending poll petitions at the Supreme Court challenging his reelection.
However, speaking on Monday during a joint press briefing, the five Jubilee legislators observed that NASA's plot to swear in Raila is not backed by any law.
The MPs Nelson Koech (Belgut), Hillary Koskei (Kipkelion East), William Cheptumo (Baringo North), William Chepkut (Ainabkoi), Julius Melly (Tinderet) and Oscar Sudi (Kapseret) rubbished the move, asserting that NASA has ran out of ideas.
"This is a clear indication of desperation by the opposition that has found it difficult to accept the will of the people. It is high time NASA came out and told their supporters the truth that Jubilee won the election," Koech remarked.
On his part, Melly dismissed NASA's secession push, guaranteeing that it will never see the light of the day.
"Kenyans should not panic by the politics NASA is trying to sell. It is not the first time we are seeing such moves. When they were defeated in 2013, they came up with the idea of a referendum. You know what happenedd," he remarked.
"This time round after another defeat, they are talking about secession, and the so call People's Assemblies. All these will go nowhere," he added.
