The National Super Alliance (NASA) on Thursday addressed reports indicating that some opposition members might join president Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet.
During a press conference, NASA maintained its position that it is not interested in cabinet positions.
NASA's sentiments come at a time President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to name the rest of the cabinet.
Speaking during a press conference at Okoa Kenya, NASA also insisted that the swearing in of Raila Odinga on January 30 is still on course.
NASA strategist David Ndii stated that the swearing in should not be used a dialogue bargain chip.
“NASA is not interested in boardroom deals which have not delivered for Kenyans like the 2007 power sharing agreement. We don’t recognise this illegitimate government and we will not give it legitimacy,” said Mr. Ndii.
“The swearing in is a reclamation of NASA’s win in the August 8 election.”
Reports had emerged ealier alluding that President Uhuru Kenyatta was intending to accomodate opposition members in Cabinet to quel the political temperatures.
