Despite an order from acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i denying political parties from 'adopting a polling stations', National Super Alliance (NASA) have promised to protect party leader Raila Odinga's votes.
The CS stated that he will not condone any form of disruption of polling stations on August 8.
"There is no room anywhere in the law or even in the arrangements that we have for anybody collecting hoodlums in the name of protecting ballot boxes and taking them to polling stations," the CS said as reported by The Star.According to Matiangi law enforcement will be deployed to respective polling stations and will deal with anyone who is not accredited accordingly.
"The protection of ballot is our responsibility with the IEBC and we have not asked anyone for help."
However, NASA Young Turks have stated that they will not adhere to the threats prompted by the CS.
"The CS is participating in scare mongering and perhaps he is part of a wider scheme by the government to scuttle the elections," said Nairobi branch chair Jonah Onyango.
Jonah added that they have already adopted over 35,600 polling stations and that they will ensure the election process is peaceful.
Ahead of the election NASA has set up stations which they will use to tally votes and provide presidential results within the course of 8 hours.
