[Photo|NASA coalition]Supporters of the NASA coalition, have started thronging Uhuru Park, ahead of the 'major announcement' by the coalition's Raila Odinga.Dressed in various colours of the coalition parties, the supporters have also carried NASA support and anti-October 26th election placards.Their arrival at the historic grounds, defies orders by Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko, who had directed police at the Central Police station, to cordon off the grounds, and prevent NASA from holding the rally, on grounds that, they did have a permit to hold the rally. The Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet, had earlier, also announced that he will not allow any illegal gatherings.Raila Odinga Secretariat head, Dennis Onyango, said the announcement would be made at the historic Uhuru Park grounds, starting 2pm, Wednesday.According to Boinnet politicians planning to have public gatherings, would have contravened Public Order Act, especially after the government declared Wednesday, a public holiday. “No person shall hold a public meeting or a public procession except in accordance with the provisions of this section. We are set and ready to offer policing services for the remaining segment in the national elections calendar," said Boinnet, on Twitter, Wednesday morning.
