Stakeholders in the education sector have called on the Opposition to stop demos saying protests will affect KCPE and KCSE students.
According to Rev. Peter Gitau of the Lord`s Sanctuary Church in Subukia , preparations for national examinations against a back drop of violent protests will affect pupils.
“Preparations for national examinations against a back drop of violence is increasingly disconcerting to candidates who have prepared adequately for KCPE scheduled to kick off on October 30,” he said.
The clergy spoke on Sunday during a prayer service for 2017 KCPE candidates from Vision Preparatory School, held at the church.
He said any demo should be suspended until national exams are over.
A parent expressed concern at the outcome of this year`s examinations that he said will be conducted amid widespread unease among citizens.
“The warring parties on the political front should amicably strike a balance on contentious issues to revert the country to normalcy” Samuel Thamo, a parent, he said.
