Political analyst Joy Mdivo has faulted the National Super Alliance (NASA) for failing to participate in the ongoing election laws amendments being undertaken by parliament.
According to the analyst, NASA should have engaged both in street demonstrations and the ongoing legislative amendments to the election laws. In her view, the street demonstrations will not yield any fruits in the long run.
Mdivo further rubbished the notion held by NASA on Jubilee's tyranny of numbers as a fallacy citing that former President Mwai Kibaki ruled the country from 2008 with the then opposition, ODM, having the tyranny of numbers.
"NASA should have engaged both in street demonstrations and the ongoing legislative process by parliament. The idea that Jubilee has a tyranny of numbers is just a fallacy since Mwai Kibaki ruled the country when ODM had the tyranny of numbers. The ongoing demonstrations will not achieve anything in the long run," reiterated the analyst.
Mdivo made the remarks on Friday during a political discussion on Citizen TV where she disagreed with NASA's call for the removal from office for some of IEBC's staff.
She believes no party was disbanded even though the parties conducted shambolic nomination elections before the August polls.
"I do not agree with street demonstrations calling for the removal from office for some of IEBC's staff. It should be noted that none of the political parties in the country was disbanded even after conducting shambolic nomination elections," added Mdivo.
