Opposition outfit NASA has concluded its list of special agents who are supposed to adopt a polling station ahead of August election.
The strategy which was widely used during the recent Ghanaian elections that gave Nana Addo victory has been adopted by Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Under the structure, five people will be tasked to oversee vote counting in a polling station before transmitting to a national parallel tallying centre in Nairobi.
“Our local leaders came up with various lists and we have finalized on the same. We shall have our agents paid to execute their duties,” said Agnes Zani.
For the better part of Monday, special officers in Orange House spent time calling heads of the polling stations to share notes on the expected duty in three weeks time.
“They will also ensure that voter turnout especially in our strongholds is high and also seal all rigging loopholes,” added Zani.
Initially, IEBC had maintained that it will only allow one special agent per polling station, a move that was disputed by the opposition.
