Jubilee Party’s point men in the Western region are accusing Opposition politicians of frustrating their campaigns.
Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka and Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa said Opposition politicians were playing “dirty politics”, making it difficult for them to popularise Jubilee in Western.
Lusaka alleged that Jubilee members were being harassed in public forums by Opposition supporters.
"Harassment of our members by political goons and propaganda that Opposition cannot substantiate are some of the challenges we are facing in the region. Politicians should be tolerant and be ready to listen to everyone's opinion,'' the governor was quoted by the Standard.
Wamalwa on his part accused the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders of tarnishing Jubilee’s name and lying to Kenyans that President Uhuru Kenyatta cannot win votes in Western.
The CS said Jubilee government had initiated several projects in the Western region which will benefit the residents.
He challenged Opposition leaders to outline the achievements they made while in the grand coalition government.
"The Opposition through National Super Alliance (NASA) should stop lying to the public that Jubilee has failed and has no chance in western. They should account for what they did when they were part of the coalition government," he said.
