Below is Khaemba's message after end of the event, same day."Today, I joined my former colleague, neighbour and friend Hon. Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, during his thanksgiving ceremony, which was attended by across section of leaders, especially from the other side of the political divide. As a leader, I believe it is always good to honour a kind invitation from a fellow leader irrespective of the political alignments in the larger interest of our Nation. Today was one such day that I got to do just that. Personally, I am committed to fostering collaboration with all elected leaders and other key actors in the political environment for the benefit of our people. The Hon Speaker is a leader for all parties in the Senate and therefore it behooves me to accord him the respect he deserves. As a fellow kinsman, I can only wish him well and promise to support his efforts toward driving the development agenda for Kenyans. I wish to use this opportunity therefore to urge the Hon Speaker to look beyond his party affiliation and serve the Kenyan public with zeal and commitment even as we continue to pursue our destiny. Congratulations are in order Hon. Lusaka and may the fear of God and the fidelity to our constitution guide your every action as you undertake your befitting role as the Speaker of the Senate."
