Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has continued with his dissent on planned inauguration of Raila Odinga as people's president, adding that the move will polarise the country.

A group of legislators mainly from Gusii have also opposed the move despite the preparations getting a notch high.

"We cannot have two presidents at a time. Swearing-in is only going to polarise the country further," he said at a funeral in Meru on Friday.

He added: "Let Raila and Uhuru Kenyatta seat and talk how to move the nation forward. We are only interested in having peace in our country."

Lately, Nyagarama has been accused of colluding with Jubilee administration, a move has has periodically denied.

Despite NASA's super majority in Nyamira Assembly, the people's assembly bill is yet to be tabled despite continuous assurances by the governor.

"I am not opposing NASA but I only just want dialogue just like the case on many opposition leaders," he said, denying claims that he has joined Jubilee.
