National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders in Taita Taveta County now wants Governor Grant on Samboja to declare his political stand. This is after Samboja recently welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the area where he vowed to work with the Jubilee administration.“I’m here as the county president to welcome the national President. I’m not interested in cheap politics. What concerns me is the development of our county and alleviating poverty,” he said, as quoted by The Star. But the Opposition leaders said the county boss statement was vague, accusing him of not working with the Wiper Party that sponsored him."We did not expect the governor to make such remarks when he knows that he belongs to the Opposition," said Richard Babu, a NASA activist.Samboja, however, has defended his move saying it is his responsibility to welcome leaders in the area.“When my party leader comes here, I’ll welcome him. There is nothing bad in welcoming our leaders in the county,” he remarked.
