Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has hinted at working with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee government in realizing her agenda for the county.
Speaking at the Kitui Teachers Training College’s sixth graduation on Saturday, Ngilu said her ambitions to develop the country married well with President Kenyatta’s development plans.
“I am going to work hand in hand with President Uhuru Kenyatta because his administration is spearheading a development agenda which is similar to mine,” she said.
“I stand for food and water, security, universal healthcare, youth and women empowerment and wealth creation which is basically what forms the Jubilee government’s agenda for Kenyans,” added the governor.
This moves comes amid the agreement between President Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga, who agreed to put aside their differences and work together to foster peace and unity.
The governor has put in place measures to ensure she works with the national government, with one such step being the Ndengu Revolution, which could ultimately see the National Youth Service purchase green grams from Kitui farmers.
Her move to work with President Kenyatta will be a big blow to the Wiper Party led by Kalonzo Musyoka, who felt they were left out of the decision by Raila Odinga to meet president Kenyatta.
