[Photo|Wilberforce Otichillo]Vihiga County Governor Wilberforce Otichillo has expressed joy after the High Court in Kakamega upheld his victory in the August general elections.He addressed the press shortly after on Monday, saying:"Good afternoonToday I am grateful to the Almighty God for the blessings he keeps bestowing upon me and the people of Vihiga County. The good book in Isaiah 54:17 says;“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD.”The will of the people and my election as the Governor of Vihiga County as was declared after the August 8th General Election, was today upheld by the High Court of Kakamega.I am thankful for the support and the patience of the people of Vihiga County. I am thankful for the support of Vihiga County leadership who have stood in solidarity in the course of the just concluded petition. I extend my sincere appreciation to Honourable Members of the County Assembly; Victor Ijaika, Wycliffe Masini, Maureen Amunga, Evans Chunguli, Elisha Amara and Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly Nickson Butiya, for standing with me in court today.Sincere appreciation also goes to my brother, Hon. Chris Omulele, MP Luanda for standing with me and offering his support. Together we look forward to working for the people of this county.People of Vihiga County, the time for politicking, empty rhetoric and running with unsubstantiated information is behind us.
