Journalist Granton Samboja, who won Taita Taveta governorship on Wiper ticket, could be warming for Jubilee party, claims senator Johnes Mwaruma.
Conspicuously, Samboja has never been seen campaigning publically for NASA leader Raila Odinga despite county leadership making such moves.
According to Mwaruma, Samboja has not attended events organized by the opposition since his election in August.
“We organized meetings to draw coordination strategy, he never showed up and now, he has never engaged in any political event for NASA,” he says.
Mwaruma adds:” This is just a clear indication that such people were riding on the back of the coalition’s popularity.”
But amid the speculation, the former Radio journalist has dismissed the claims arguing that he was more concerned with improving people’s livelihoods.
“Time for politics is over and I am a NASA member. I have a duty to work for my people and that is exactly what I am doing,” he said.
He has however, not confirmed his attendance in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s rally scheduled on Tuesday in Voi.
