The National Super Alliance (NASA) has congratulated the 15 counties that have passed its People's Assembly motion.
On Thursday morning, the coalition sent its congratulatory message hailing the assemblies through its Twitter account.
Siaya County was the first one to pass the motion in November. Other 14 counties that followed the course were: Busia, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Makueni, Kitui, Bungoma, Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Machakos and Mandera County.
“Congratulations to the 15 County Assemblies that have so far passed NASA's People's Assembly Motion: Busia, Siaya, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Makueni, Kitui, Bungoma, Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Machakos, and Mandera,” tweeted the coalition.
The coalition urged its supporters to continue resisting the Jubilee governance.
Some leaders in the Jubilee government wanted the national treasury to stop funding the counties which agreed with the NASA motion.
The opposition had crafted the motion which was tabled in all NASA stronghold counties to allow for the formation of the people's assemblies in the devolved units.
Raila Odinga had fashioned the assemblies as the way out of their refusal to accept the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner in the October 26 repeat presidential election.
