[Photo|citizen digital]NASA has taken a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, after it distanced itself from a petition filed by one of its lawmakers, seeking for the removal of Chief Justice David Maraga from office.Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu filed the petition at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Thursday morning. The Jubilee lawmaker accused Maraga of gross misconduct following a September 1 nullification of August 8 presidential election, which saw his party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta lose his re-election.Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said the move did not represent the party, but it was an individual decision."I have seen the petition online. I have just seen it but I have not read it to the end. It is not a Jubilee Party thing. It is an individual's action," said Tuju. However, Nasa through its presidential campaign manager Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed Jubilee's denial of the petition, saying disowning it was a cover up by Jubilee. "We wish to call the bluff on Jubilee disowning of a petition by its member to remove Chief Justice David Maraga. The country needs to know that disowning the Ngunjiri petition by Tuju is a cover-up of Jubilee intentions to intimidate and emasculate the Judiciary before the October 17 election and on numerous petitions filed against Jubilee," Mudavadi, said Thursday.Ngunjiri's action elicited mixed reactions on social media, with most users linking the petition to the Jubilee Party, saying its top leadership had started making good of its threat to "deal with" CJ Maraga.During a press briefing in Lavington, Mudavadi indicated this was equally exposed when Jubilee senators scheme to strip Judiciary powers in support of Uhuru’s vow to teach the judges a lesson.
