Kalonzo, a former vice president, has said that the opposition is 15 million strong. The lawmaker spoke during NASA rally at Moi gardens in Kericho town on July 6, 2017.

"Our numbers now stands at 15 million strong because the Rift has shifted. People have set aside their political, religious and ethnic differences in favor of NASA," said Kalonzo, as quoted by Standard.

Raila, for his part, said that the forthcoming general elections offer Kenyans a great opportunity to elect leaders who will correct mistakes made by the current regimes. He argued that he is among the people who can transform Kenya if elected into power.

He took a swipe at the Jubilee leadership for squandering the opportunity they were granted by the electorate following the last general elections. He further asked residents of this part of the nation to turn out in large numbers in order to elect him to state house.

"The August 8 General Election offers Kenyans another chance to finally elect the best bunch of leaders for the country. This is the message we bring to the people of South Rift and Kenya at large, 31 days to the election. This is the term for NASA," said Raila.
