Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has termed National Super Alliance (NASA) a coalition of losers.
Speaking on Citizen Television during the State of the Nation show, Murkomen said all NASA presidential hopefuls are perennial losers.
The senator was referring to ODM’s Raila Odinga, Amani’s Musalia Mudavadiand Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka who have lost previous presidential bids.
Odinga has tried thrice without making it while Kalonzo has also been on the ballot but only became the last Kenyan Vice President and Musalia lost in 2013. Wetangula and others are seen as lesser opponents.
The self proclaimed number three in the national leadership hierarchy said that Jubilee is not worried about whoever the opposition will field against the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Murkomen, the 2013 elections proved that Uhuru can beat Raila and Kalonzo combined. He said the total votes for the two opposition veteran leaders cannot match Uhuru’s numbers.
However, Kakamega County Senator Dr. Bonny Khalwale disputed Murkomen’s statement and promised Jubilee an unforgettable showdown in the August elections.
Khalwale compared Jubilee to an exhausted mouse which the cat will make fun of before feasting on it.
The outspoken senator also faulted president Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address which he said was pure PR as opposed to addressing sensitive state matters.
Khalwale said the President has sensed defeat something that made him turn a critical constitution mandate in parliament to a campaign platform.
