Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has downplayed claims by National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze that Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka will lead his Party out of the National Super Alliance (NASA) if he is not named the flag bearer in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking to the Star, Muthama said that the alliance is bigger than the remarks Nyenze made. “It's his constitutional right to say what he wants as long as he is not breaking the law. But it should be clear NASA is bigger than Nyenze,” Muthama told the local daily.

The Senator also said that it will not take long for the alliance to name its flag bearer, adding that opposition supporters should be patient.

“Soon and very soon, you are going to know the boss,” he added. The sentiments of Nyenze have caused tension in the alliance as the next general polls.

Amani National Congress (ANC) has, however, rubbished claims that the alliance will collapse of Kalonzo opts to bolt out as speculated.

According to Mudavadi, the alliance will only be broken if at least three co-principals express interest to walk out.
