Kalonzo Musyoka does not have an alternative for pursuing his presidential ambition apart from NASA. According to David Makali, Musyoka can not defect from opposition coalition because there is no ready accommodation. He said the only viable route is to remain in the super alliance.
His comments come amidst a probable fallout in NASA fueled by Wiper leaders who are demanding a Kalonzo endorsement by Raila Odinga. The storm is threatening to wreck opposition especially after local leaders endorsed Musyoka. Even Musyoka’s long-term political foe Charity Ngilu is backing a Kalonzo candidature.
However, the ANC senatorial aspirant said that people are inflating the rift in NASA. He claimed that there is partial interpretation of Kalonzo’s remarks. The analyst wondered why some Kenyans are not keen on the conclusion of former vice president who says he is in NASA to stay. Wiper party national treasurer and Garissa Township MP hopeful Farah Maalim also confirmed Wiper's commitment to NASA.
Kenyans are waiting to see if Musyoka will decamp to pursue self-interests as he did in 2007. Despite his public denial of a recap of the watermelon move, his recent statements raise eyebrows. Many are predicting a move that will see him go solo.
