Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s personal aide Miguna Miguna has downplayed the coming together of the opposition parties under NASA, saying they are yet to fully unite.
According to Miguna, the coming few weeks will be important for the opposition, as they will determine their unity in different fronts.
“They are not clearly united, they are only unified. So it it will be major once they unite. Once we know who their presidential candidate will be, and we see the formation, then it will be major,” said Miguna.
He however pointed out that their unity is a statement of purpose which shouldn’t be taken lightly.
“I’m a strategist, I don’t put the cart before the horse. Right now is like a statement of purpose, but we have to see how it plays out in the coming weeks,” he said.
Once they have declared who their presidential candidate is, and who the deputy is going to be, and then the lineup then they unveil the policies on which they are running, then I’ll say it is major,” he added.
He was speaking on NTV on Wednesday evening, a few hours after the opposition parties launched a unified front under NASA, which aims to wrestle the presidency from Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
