A section of Jubilee leaders have rubbished the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) terming it “a reunion of selfish Leaders."
Led by Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege, the leaders claimed NASA wants to take advantage of corruption allegations to rise to power.
The leaders warned Kenyans against supporting the alliance since it does not have the interest of the people at heart.
“NASA is only power-hungry and selfish; that is why they want to change the Constitution to fit them. We are watching and they need to know Kenyans are not stupid. We backed the Constitution and we will not change it to suit the interest of a few people,” she said, as quoted by Citizen.
Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau, however, warned members of Jubilee against ignoring NASA saying that it is likely to give UhuRuto a hard time when it comes to retaining the seat considering cases of massive corruption.
“To be very honest, corruption allegations have dented the image of Jubilee and the Opposition has used it as campaign tool. If we don’t relook this very well we shall have a difficult time come 2017,” he said.
The sentiments of these leaders come at a time when Cord leader Raila Oding and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi are working on a strategy to beat UhuRuto.
