Lawyer Charles Kanjama has endorsed opposition alliance NASA's latest move to initiate county people's assemblies as it seeks to constitutionally dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Citizen TV Tuesday, Kanjama hailed the Raila Odinga-led team for using legal routes in its bid terming the tack as a brilliant move.

He said that with the use of the assemblies, the alliance will be able to strike deals with the people themselves and finally reach a consensus with them before reaching out to the government which will be forced to approve its demands.

''This is a brilliant idea whose time has come.It is satisfying that the opposition has broadened its reasoning and is now seeking alternative routes. The move is very likely to work as it will compel the IEBC and the government to look into the NASA demands,'' said Kanjama.

He also opposed a petition filed in the challenge of President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election the concluded October 26 election enlisting the alliance as a respondent saying that it holds no water legally.

According to Kanjama, NASA should be included in the case filed by Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa, but as an interested party.

''The alliance should not be included in the petition as a respondent as there is nothing to be responded to.It was neither involved in the management nor did it participate in the poll.It should come in as an interested party has raised concerns regarding the manner in which the exercise was conducted,'' he said.
