Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi and Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi have claimed that opposition coalition NASA is unprepared for the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking in Buuri Constituency during a political rally, the lawmakers cited unending ultimatums to the electoral agency IEBC by the opposition as a clear sign of poll unpreparedness.
They further cautioned NASA against blackmailing and intimidating IEBC, observing that the commission is an independent body that should be free from political interference.
“The Opposition is not prepared for the August polls and they want to make Kenyans feel IEBC is not prepared to conduct free and fair elections. They know that Jubilee will win again,” Kiraitu said.
On his part, Linturi claimed that NASA has sensed poll defeat, and was laying ground to reject the forthcoming general election results.
“We will not accept intimidation of any kind as NASA is panicking since they know they will lose and that’s why they are looking for scapegoats,” he stated.
