Despite political animosity between NASA and Jubilee, elected MPs from Gusii have vowed to work together to foster development in both Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

A meeting convened by North Mugurango MP Joash Nyamoko (Jubilee) and Kisii Women Representative Janet Ong'era (ODM) agreed unanimously to unify the populous voting region.

"The community agenda will be our first priority regardless of our political differences," Nyamoko told the Star.

Chaired by Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri, the meeting also resolved to bring on board Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira) and James Ongwae (Kisii).

"We shall reach our two governors so that we can spearhead the agenda as a team. We must push the community agenda first," said Richard Onyonka of Kitutu Chache South.

Also targeted outside Gusii region are Simba Arati (Dagoretti South) and Samuel Arama of Nakuru Town West.

During the August polls, Raila Odinga beat Uhuru Kenyatta by a wider margin in both counties but Uhuru's graph significantly improved in Nyamira.
