Social media users from Nyamira for the first in as many months set aside fierce political differences to criticize President Uhuru Kenyatta's nominees for Head of State Commendation.
Over fifty (50) Kenyans were on Tuesday feted with the lucrative award, over their milestone achievements in patriotism and heroism among others.
But the list did not go down well with both Jubilee and NASA supporters who accused the president of 'stooping low' and neutralizing national values.
"You expect people like Dr. Fred Kambuni who separated conjoined twins but yoiu just find a group of sycophants," said Mary Mokaya, a staunch Jubilee supporter on Borabu Watchtower WhatsApp group.
Nelson Osiemo, a NASA supporter added: "A list without baby Mary Mokaya, who saved her classmates at Moi Girls in Nairobi is as good as dead."
Journalist Jackie Maribe, State House Digital Communication Director Dennis Itumbi, bloggers Pauline Njoroge and Robert Alai were part of those recognized.
Despite saving hundreds of classmates, Mary succumbed to injuries and was laid to rest in Kisii, County.
