NASA and Jubilee youth leaders on Monday launched a drive to preach peace and unity.
The initiative launched was propagated by the handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA principal Raila Odinga that is changing politics of the country.
Speaking at Juste Hotel Witeithie, Kiambu County, during the launch of the Youth for Peace Foundation with "Growing seeds of Peace" as the theme of the initiative, youths from Jubilee, who were from Kiambu and NASA youths coming from Nyanza discussed the way forward on how they could promote peace and unity amongst themselves, so that they can forget about their past experiences.
NASA youth leader Mr. Robert Sidhe Okoth said the initiative will help the youths to forget all the myths they were getting from politicians during campagins. He said the myths were making youths to hate each other, which causes hatred and lack of unity in the country.
A Jubilee leader,Ms Anita Thumbi, a nominated MCA, echoed what Mr. Okoth said. She also added that it is the deal between President Uhuru and Mr. Odinga that is encouraging their plan to restore peace amongst the youths from these two regions.
"The meeting between His Excellency the President and NASA principal Raila Odinga has made us to come up with this initiative," she said.
The initiative also involved other many things including planting of trees in schools, donation of sanitary pads, donation of footballs among others.
