According to Magaya, the Foreign Affairs Ministry under the Jubilee government has failed to address various issues with other East African countries hence leading to imposition of trade sanctions.

Magaya's remarks come after the Tanzanian government imposed a Kshs 5000 business visa fee for every professional firm willing to operate in the country. As a results, 20 firms have since been barred from accessing the Tanzanian market with Brookside Dairy and New KCC among the casualties.

"The constant blockade of Kenyan firms from operating in other East African countries is because of poor diplomacy from the Foreign Affairs Ministry under Amina Mohamed and the Jubilee administration at large. That is why 20 firms today are being barred from operating in Tanzania with an additional imposition of a Kshs 5000 business visa fee," said Magaya.

Magaya further rubbished Kiambu Women Rep Ann Nyokabi Gacheca claims linking NASA coalition to the ongoing row between Kenya and Tanzania. In his view, NASA has no authority to dictate the Tanzanian government on any issue because the coalition is not in government and has no power therefore.

"The NASA coalition cannot be accused of being the perpetrators of the ongoing row between Kenya and Tanzania. NASA is not in government and hence has no power to influence anything," added Magaya.

Magaya made the remarks during an interview on Citizen TV's Power breakfast show on Friday where he further cited Uganda's change of the railway course as another example of failed diplomacy between Kenya and other East African countries.
