Kuria who spoke in Kwale County on Tuesday said contrary to claims NASA has over 10 million supporters registered with the IEBC, the support base was illusionary.
“From where does NASA imagine they will get votes to win this election?” Kuria asked.
“The lifetime achievement award for spin goes to NASA. They have managed to convince the world that counties like Kwale are their strongholds. Another 27 days and this spin bubble will be busted.”
NASA, going by the 2013 voting patterns is sure of garnering majority votes in the expansive region that covers the counties of Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River,Lamu and Taita Taveta.
Voters in the region in 2013 voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga almost to the man.
On April 28, Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko said Coast was tightly locked under NASA and President Uhuru Kenyatta would garner fewer votes than he did in 2013.
“Coast region is locked. We are not divided as our opponents think. We are united with one goal- to ensure NASA gathers majority votes. We have been marginalised for long. Only NASA will rescue us,” said Mboko.
But Kuria who was in company of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri said Coast was “painted red”.
He said Uhuru will sweep votes in the region whose economy heavily relies on tourism.
Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya is among leaders from Coast who left the opposition and joined Jubilee.
