The Opposition National Super Alliance has lamented that the security team accorded to their presidential candidate Raila Odinga and two former vice-presidents is too small.

They, however, however, did not reveal how many armed guards and vehicles they are demanding for Raila and former vice-presidents Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi.

Raila was in August 2013 handed 12 armed security guards.

“We should not be begging for additional security, you know. The moment Raila was declared a presidential candidate, he, particularly, requires extra security more so because of the kind of activities he will be engaged in in the next 30 days ahead of the elections on August 8,” Siaya Senator James Orengo told journalists.

“We are challenging President Kenyatta to assure the country of the safety of Raila and that of his co-principals,” he added.

Other leaders in the NASA 'pentagon' Moses Wetang’ula and Governor Isaac Ruto are already entitled to government security and transport.
