Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa has accused NASA top lawyers of misleading their leader Raila Odinga on key constitutional issues.

Ichung’wa says that Odinga’s lawyers are not misadvising him especially on the current political impasse in the country.

According to the Kikuyu lawmaker, some of the political actions being taken by Odinga lack constitutional backing.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Monday, the vocal Jubilee MP cited Raila’s recent withdrawal from the October 26 repeat presidential election saying it was a blunder and a miscalculation by the former Prime Minister's (PM) lawyers.

Ichung’wa also cited NASA’s threat to paralyze voting on October 26 noting that it is criminal for Odinga or any other person to sabotage voting.

“Raila Odinga is being misguided by his lawyers and will soon find himself in big trouble,” the Jubilee MP said during an interview on Citizen TV on Monday.

Ichung’wa also slammed NASA over the daily anti-IEBC demonstrations claiming that the opposition is advocating for violent protests contrary to the provision of the constitution on picketing.

The Jubilee MP said that NASA is misinterpreting the law to its own advantage and to frustrate the rule of law.

Ichung'wa asked NASA to call of the daily anti-IEBC protests saying that they are creating unnecessary fear.

NASA has vowed to continue with the daily anti-IEBC protests despite the ban by the police.
