Jubilee Party leaders drawn from Bungoma county have accused Opposition coalition NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula of inciting local residents to violence.

According to Sirisia MP John Walukhe, the Bungoma Senator is responsible for using youths "to fulfill his selfish interests."

Speaking to the journalists in Bungoma, Walukhe the county has been largely peaceful until some local leaders incited the youth to take part in nationwide demonstrations called by the Opposition.

He warned that the protests were bound to hurt the county's economy and development.

"We can't allow a few leaders to fund youths to cause unrest in the county. Bungoma is a peaceful region and opposition leaders should not use youths to intimidate peace-loving Kenyans," he remarked.

His sentiments were reiterated by Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama who claimed that youths had been given money to barricade roads."You can't fund a few boys from the slums to prove a point. Fund them to engage in meaningful business ventures. Any chaos will be met with the full force of the law," he said.
