Speaking on Saturday during a burial ceremony in Sirisia constituency, Bungoma county, area Governor Wycliffe Wangamati rubbished claims that the alliance is approaching a collapse following failure by three of its co-principals to attend Opposition Leader Raila Odinga's January 30 inauguration.

He said that his party leader and area Senator Moses Wetangula, one of the three, is still part of the team and has no plans of denouncing his support for NASA operations.

"There should be no worries about our unity. Wetangula is deeply rooted in NASA and so are the rest of us," said the county chief.

A section of Jubilee leaders from the county also attended the funeral and called for a united Luhya team to spearhead race for 2022 presidency.

Sirisia MP John Waluke stressed on the need  for the community to identify a common leader ahead of the 2022 elections and called for a fast consideration on the same.

"This is the time to decide the leader behind whom we will rally our support in the approaching elections," he said.
