The Garissa NASA leaders defended Mr. Raila for meeting with Mr. Kenyatta saying it’s a move that will unite the country.

The leaders led by Minority Leader Mohamed Ali Sheikh welcomed their resolve to put aside their differences and work together.

Mr. Sheikh supported Raila’s move to meet President Kenyatta without the other principals saying that his move was bold and would help heal and reconcile Kenyans.

Mr. Sheikh who is also the Abakaile MCA said that Raila in the meeting represented other Nasa leaders just as Mr. Kenyatta represented other Jubilee leaders.

“Over the past years, Kenya was caught up in a tug-of-war between political formations in their push for a democratic nation.”

“This has resulted in deep and bitter political divisions, disagreement and ethnicity. We witness a continued decay of relationship between ethnic communities. Raila’s move to meet President Kenyatta was bold and it would help heal and reconcile the country,” he said.

Speaking at a press conference, the MCA urged the two leaders to work with other leaders in finding solutions that will bind Kenyans together and help grow the country.

“It is our hope that the two leaders will join efforts and promote national ethos, enhance inclusivity, strengthen devolution, end the cancer of divisive elections, win the war on corruption, and promote shared prosperity,” added Mr. Sheikh.

Other MCAs present at the press conference included Abdirizack Ismail (Galbet), Gedi Adow (nominated), Diriye Bare (Damajaley) and Adow Omar (Hulugho).
