National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders in Uasin Gishu county have called for political tolerance among the locals ahead of the October 17 repeat presidential election.
The leaders who spoke to the press in Eldoret town after holding a meeting to strategise on how they will conduct their campaigns reiterated the need for the locals to allow anybody to campaign in the county irrespective of their political affiliation.
This they said will ensure a peaceful campaign period that will not disrupt the county's economy.
Led by Kiplombe MCA Ramadan Werambo Ali, the NASA leaders said every Kenyan should be open to listen to the agenda being presented by the two political outfits so as to make an informed decision during the polls.
"Tolerance is important especially at this time that we are expecting heightened political temperatures ahead of the repeat polls," said Ali, an ODM MCA.
"We need to nurture our democracy by allowing politicians from all over to sell their manifesto freely," added Moira Chepkok who unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu Woman Representative seat on an ANC ticket.
