Opposition coalition NASA leaders have challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to publicly declare his commitment to free, fair and credible polls.

Speaking over the weekend during a series of political meetings in Western Kenya region, the leaders noted that the country will not accept a flawed electoral process.

“We want Uhuru to publicly assure Kenyans that he will not steal votes in August. In 2013 Jubilee rigged elections and this time round we are not ready for the same,” Siaya Senator James Orengo stated.

On his part, NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga insisted that there was a plot by the Jubilee adminstration to use the military to rig the polls.

“I would like to urge with security agencies in this country to desist from politics totally. Their work is to maintain peace and order and not to be used by a failed government to rig elections,” he noted.
