At least four leaders of the opposition outfit NASA are believed to have lost their phones on Sunday at the Kenyatta International Conference Center.

The leaders had accompanied presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka for clearance by electoral body IEBC.

Senators James Orengo (Siaya), Johnstone Muthama (Machakos), Moses Wetangula (Bungoma) and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi were the casualties.

A huge crowd had built near the entry causing commotion as NASA leaders made entry, an atmosphere which seemed ideal for the suspected thugs.

The four complained later, a move that made NASA leader Raila Odinga to fume at guards in a video made public by KTN news.

The incident could raise fundamental questions with regard to safety of high profile politicians with only three months to elections.

Although they seemed disturbed by the events of the day, the NASA leaders proceeded to Jacaranda grounds in the suburbs of Nairobi where they addressed a huge gathering.

Recently, the government through the office of the Inspector General of police pledged to give enough security during political rallies.
