A section of leaders allied to the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) is now calling upon the coalition chief Raila Odinga to exit the political arena.
Speaking on Radio Jambo Tuesday, Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula urged the former Prime Minister to instead concentrate on utilizing his experience to hand the alliance a win in the 2022 presidential race.
He stressed on the need for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader to rally behind one of the remaining NASA co-principals in the next presidential race, after a series of futile attempts.
"Odinga has had enough unsuccessful shots at the presidency and should now consider supporting another person for the race on a NASA ticket. He is a well-known kingmaker and should use the quality to hand NASA a win in 2022," said the lawmaker.
His comments were echoed by his Kitui Central counterpart Makali Mulu, who urged the veteran leader to give room for younger leaders.
"It is time he left and gave room for the younger generation of leaders. We need a fresh leadership with new leadership techniques," said Mulu.
Odinga is, however, yet to announce whether or not he will be in the presidential ballot come 2022, after 4 unsuccessful shots.
